GOAL SETTING
To close the achievement gap, students who are reading below grade level have goals set to reflect more than a year's gain. If we set a child's goal to only one year, a child who is reading 2 years below grade level will still be reading two years below grade level when we send him/her to intermediate school.
Kaimiloa Elementary school is committed to getting every student performing on grade level. Teachers guide and collaborate with each student to establish his/her End of Year Reading Goal.
Below is a progressive chart that highlights the monthly levels students should be reading at if they are on grade level. With your help and support at home, we know that all students can meet or surpass any goals we might set for them.
